Hello, Personal Brand Photography
Good Morning! I wanted to talk to you today about something I’ve become increasingly passionate about over the past few months and can’t wait any longer to share with everyone! Personal Brand Photography. Have you heard of it? If not, you’ve probably seen it somewhere in your feed, and it is super awesome and perfect for those with small or online businesses! Just hear me out.
With more and more of our world going online for their businesses, shopping and consumerism - it leaves less time for you to personally connect and interact with your customers and clients. And from their side it doesn’t let them see you or get to know you either.
"It only takes 7 seconds
to make a first impression!"
Did you know it takes 7 seconds to make a first impression? That’s not a lot of time to attract someone to you, and if you’re not even in their presence, then what!?
I can tell you from the face of my website, the “under construction” I’ve had there for the past months definitely does NOT make a good first impression! Are you making a good first impression online? How about a GREAT one?
So, what exactly is personal brand photography?
It’s sort of like a lifestyle headshot session, but it’s really not. What we do is take a series of photos including personal aspects of who you are and what you do. This includes: headshots, lifestyle shots including things you love or are passionate about (adventure, your family, dog, wine, etc.) the tools of your trade (i.e. if you’re a florist, flowers, clippers) and action shots of you doing your job if possible.
At the end of your session you receive at least your digital images with commercial use permissions to use in marketing, on social media, etc. to boost interest and generate engagement with you and your brand.
"Personal Branding is the art of establishing
an image or impression of a person,
group or organization in the minds of others."
Why Should I Invest in Personal Brand Photography?
If you’re thinking “I don’t have a brand”, you do. Every single person has a brand, even if you don’t own a business, you as a person have a brand. A representation of who you are, what you do and what you want people to remember or think of when they think of you and/or your business.
We’re moving to an online world where we don’t get to make the connections we do when someone walks into a storefront. And even if you have a business in a building, how many of your customers are referrals? From friends, Facebook recommendations, google searches, on and on… these things are what bring people to your page, your website, your profile, your store. It’s all relevant, whether you’re a brick and mortar business or if you’re solely online.
Second - there are a lot of online businesses where it’s a pick the person you like most. For example, how many people do you know doing direct sales? What sets one apart from another? They’re your friends, your family? What if you don’t have a friend or family member selling what you’re interested in? What are you looking for when you scour their pages or look for information? Do you have that?
What do you look for as a consumer?
Do you have that?
